Sektor:

BEST NORMALS:
*+HIT LEVEL:H - 11% A single lunging high punch blast.  Sektor gains distance and throws out a very fast attack jab

*+HIT LEVEL:H,H,H - 12% - 3 hit mid string that launches. Second link in the string can only be done at close range.  This combo leads to most of his punishers.

*+,HIT LEVEL:H,H - 15% Very easy 2 hit combo that juggles and can be used as a combo ender for up missile setups.

*+HIT LEVEL:M - Leg Lift - Canceling with (9%) is Sektors best overhead option and a teleport uppercut can be done afterward.  It can also be canceled with (3%) for a low starter.

SPECIALS:
*Flame burner(+)HIT LEVEL:H - 8% Flamethrower attack with a great range.  Great for anti-air.

*Teleport Uppercut(+)HIT LEVEL:H - 6% Sektors most useful tool.  Cancels off of easily and is part of every high damage combo.

*Straight Missile(+)HIT LEVEL:H -  8% Sektors straight missile is a great tool for applying pressure from a distance to force mistakes.

*Up Missile - 8%
(Above) (+)HIT LEVEL:H
(Behind) (+)HIT LEVEL:H
(In Front) (+)HIT LEVEL:H
Up Missile is a great way to apply pressure and zone from anywhere on the screen and it stuns.  You can use this after his 15% combo ender juggle if they do not have any wakeup options to force a mistake.  It recovers quick enough to block most teleports for combo of choice.  Mixing up with 'In Front' and 'Behind' up missiles for aggressive or turtle players.

MOVES:
* Flame Thrower(+)HIT LEVEL:H - 12% This move is the same as the non- version except faster recovery.  Sektors meter is more of an asset elsewhere.

* Metal Uppercut(+)HIT LEVEL:H - 11-12% This move is excellent and where Sektors meter should be used almost exclusively.  It extends juggles and allows for setups.

* Double Missile(+)HIT LEVEL:H - 13% Same thing as standard missile, only useful if you really need the damage.

* Homing Missile(++)HIT LEVEL:H - 8% Same animation as the 'Up Missile' but with slow recovery!  The missile follows the opponent and always hits.  Use only if you need to close out a tight match with chip.  Can allow you to get in for more pressure once its out.

STRATEGY:

Missiles:
If Sektor has enough distance he throw 'up missiles' followed immediately by a straight missile to combo off of the 'up missile' stun.  This is particularly effective against characters with no teleport options and missile spam causes mistakes.  Jumpers can be punished in the air after an 'up missile' with a quick jump kick into teleport uppercut -> combo of choice for large damage, or Flame Burner for a safe 8% damage.

Keep missile pressure whenever you are at a safe distance with 'up missile', even if just for the added chip.

String Mix Ups:
Sektor is kind of limited with his strings but his damage makes up for it.  Use the leg lift on crouching opponents to keep them guessing.  He also has a (13%) standing combo that pushes the opponent back on block to a little past sweep distance and about 3/4 screen if you want some distance for his missile game.

Anti Air:
Sektors anti air is great.  He can punish with jump kick into teleport for high damage or fire burner from a distance for safe damage.  Not only does this allow for high damage juggles, but your opponent will stay out of the air when they risk 38%+ damage, leading to more missile opportunity.

Jumping:
Normally a curse word in fighting games, Sektor is able to jump more than most other characters due to the fact that his teleport uppercut can start a combo from anywhere on the screen against jumping / standing / crouched opponents.  This lets him move around a bit more freely than other characters and bait projectiles for free teleport uppercuts.

Attack:
Sektors is a faster missile that can be done fullscreen for 32%.  The is actually really good and can be done during 'up missile' stun but Sektors meter is best spent on teleport uppercuts with consistent damage making every combo 10%.  The best use of this is by using its armor to trade hits with another attack.

Most of the combos Sektor can into are not as damaging as the standard combos.

STANDARD COMBOS:
Sektors easiest normals to link with are his jump kick into teleport uppercut and + (which gains more meter).

1. 25% - jump kick, teleport uppercut,

2. 25% - +, , teleport punch,

3. 26% (Low start) - +, teleport punch,

4. 27% (Overhead) - +, teleport punch,

5. 33% - +, jump kick, teleport punch,

6. 36% - +, +,, teleport punch, OR ,

COMBOS:
1. 32% teleport uppercut, jump kick, teleport uppercut,

2. 33% - +, jump kick, teleport punch,

3. 36% (Low start) - +, teleport punch, jump kick,  teleport punch,

4. 38% - +, , teleport punch, jump kick, ,

5. 40% (Overhead) - +, teleport punch, jump kick, teleport punch,

6. 44% - +, jump kick, teleport punch, jump kick, teleport punch,

7. 45% - +, +,, teleport punch, jump kick, teleport punch,

8. 45% - +, +,, teleport punch, jump kick, teleport punch, +,

9. 54% (48% without up missile)- up missile, jp, +,+,, teleport punch, jump kick, teleport punch, +

Situational up missile, but it does happen in matches if you are applying up missile pressure at the right time.

COMBOS:
Sektor's combos come in handy when you need unbreakable damage or for using it's armor to trade hits.  Here are the best normals for comboing into the super and can be done off of his popup or teleport uppercut.

1. +, - 33% [less consistent, more damage]

2. +, - 28% [consistent]

3. +, - 30% [very consistent]

Sweet guide, Scheiss!  Lips Sealed

Thanks man, I appreciate it.
You pick this game up at all, or are you still not feelin it?  I kind of think what you were talking about was murdered from the demo.  I just feel bad you guys havent got the match experience yet with PSN bein lame.  I haven't even unwrapped my PS3 disc yet, but I'm looking forward to sharing some good times with some MK2 players when MK2/UMK3 strats still exist in this game.

I guess Easter Sunday is a good day to say "God Speed" for PSN.

This game is too much like MK vs DC for me to go back to it. I feel like the real mortal kombat got lost somewhere after UMK3 and MK9 makes me realize that is never coming back. Back in the arcade days when there was Super Street Fighter 2 competing with MK2, I always wondered who would come out on top, capcom or midway. Capcom has done an outstanding job of keeping their fans interested by not selling out or completely changing the game that we knew and loved. I can't say the same for midway! Capcom wins.  Wink  Someone mentioned that MK 1-3 are in MK9... if this is true, that's more than enough reason for me to buy MK9, but at best, I will dabble in it and play offline against my friends from time to time, but that's about it. For those who play MVC3, see you online!

Again Scheiss, thanks for posting the guide!

mk9 is an oustanding game man but i see your point its not like mk2 and mk3 since they had pressure jabs and mk9 doesnt but its still a good game. there isnt pressure jabs anymore but a new way simliar to that is by doing some of the fighters fast recovery attacks example scorpions 1,1,1 is pretty good for pessuring ur opponent since it has a fast recovery to block or back up or watever and theres alot more safe moves but yea u'll never see pressure jabs like in the old mk's but u will see fast recovery moves.
