Well i played the demo finally..An to me it's like MK2 had sex with SSF4..that's what MK9 feels like..
It don't really feel like MKvsDC at all..An yes they have programed combos but you still can get creative a lot an make your own very easily..All moves are very easily to do,even the ones were you use the meter like a ex spear..The throw button was set up as L1..I felt that was weird but you can counter a throw easy to..X-ray is just like the ultra in ssf4 you have to wait for some one to slip up to get them in it,or just add it at the end of a combo you can link it to..Everybody can do a wake up move or roll out of the way...Everybody has a move that will knock you to the ground an a move that can knock you back up for juggles or one that can damage you while on the ground..An you can juggle people out of the air so easy, everybody will be able to do it..But one thing i noticed is if you catch somebody with a spear by scorpion an throw another one right after it they will instantly be knocked to the ground an you will not be able to damage them for 2 sec's or so an its the same with  Evil Roll...They really made it all about timing..An this game is going to reward the patient fighting style an not the rush in one..This game is all about punishing people for rushing in an throwing moves at you..It's not fast at all as the MK team described it,it still has that Mk2 chess style of thinking with it..So if you can fight with Patience an still make your opponent feel pressured you will have no trouble at being good at this game.. My only problem with it is the weird control layout that you cant change on the demo an the counter system..All move that can be punished should be be punished instead of a in game counter system..A lot of moves have been change to Different ways of inputting the but that's not really bad at all...If you like Umk3 then i don't think you will like this game that much...But Mk2 an SSf4 Fans will more than likely be pleased...

I don't know, it feels very fast to me, especially when you're playing offensive.

I was thinking from the defensive side...But yeah if 2 people use straight offense..a match could go really fast..

An this game is going to reward the patient fighting style an not the rush in one..This game is all about punishing people for rushing in an throwing moves at you..It's not fast at all as the MK team described it,it still has that Mk2 chess style of thinking with it..

That's actually not true, I played against an actual person, my friend, there are moves that can only be blocked low and others that can only be blocked high. If you sit their and block all day, unless you're the most amazing guesser in the world, you're gonna be in deep shit. And it's very, very fast paced. Playing an actual person is much more different than the CPU. It's all about timing your OTGs, dashes, and more importantly, how you block. And when you practice combos, the game gets better by the minute. However you're right about the MK2 chess game, and you do have to be careful, but being too defensive is a really bad idea.

I did the same thing today me an some local MK2 people got up an played it...It did pick up pace a lot..But near the end we were playing super defensive(we really got used to the high an low blocks from all the ssf4 last year lol I still kinda hate an like SSf4)..An man I'm really digging the dashing an ex-moves make for some crazy combos..Me an adam4545 had some crazy cage an sub matches going today!! But the best thing to me is when somebody slips up gets x-rayed..You know its coming from a mile away an your anticipating it but then you slip up an still you get hit with it lol..

So I played MK9 today. It really is a 2.5D version of MK vs DC without the DC characters  Sad Plus all the characters just don't look move right, they seem too cartoony, everyone sort of over exaggerates all their moves making it feel cartoony. Sub's freeze takes a good second to come out, and there is no longer double ice backfire... AND his slide is back-forward circle just like MK vs DC. You would think that a video game 20 years in the making would be better than this.

I don't like how the move list for old characters has changed but I like the idea of having to learn all the moves again, slowly but surely. As long as one of those 26 something character's gameplay speaks to my hands, I'll keep this game and be a one character player-that's the worst case scenario. I'd like to learn a minimum of two and actually enjoy the game over time Roll Eyes

Evil i like this game so far ive been playing cage mostly ive worked on his combos i can do an easy 31% combo no x ray or ex moves. besides the look of it it the gameplay in no way reminds me of mkvdc its a lot faster and a lot more deep. not too deep though because i feel like ive already got so many tactics down for cage that i got a lil bored  Shocked maybe its the computer, expert is way to easy... im gonna go for a b+ for the demo
