This is for Mortal Kombat Multiplayer on the pc. I found this file posted on demonoid http://www.demonoid.me/files/details/2526885/ It's an easy to use file with instructions for noobs. It includes mk1, mk2, mk3 inside, includes juggernaut umk3. Its based on mame 0.64 I'm glad I found the file, I know nothing about kailerra was in and playing in 5 minutes.

The author notes a new server, it's called "Mortal Kombat 1/2/3 *Official Server* (Mame 0.64 Required)"

Here are the notes from the readme.

Extract the contents of the mortalkombatonline.zip

You may recieve a COMCTL32.DLL error if you are using Windows 7 x64. IGNORE IT! Click Yes.

Click the "available" folder on the left. If the Mortal Kombat Roms do not show up on the right, click options, then
directories.. and browse for the roms directory that contains the mortal kombat rom .zip files. then go to "view" and "refresh"

To play online:
Right click on the mortal kombat game in the list you wish to play. Then go to "play network game"

Refresh the list and find a server called: Mortal Kombat 1/2/3 *OFFICIAL SERVER" (Mame 0.64 Required)

It's a great server, lots of competitive players, and its MK ONLY!

If all else fails, or the server is down go to WEST WONDERLAND which is also a great server.

Alternative Install:
If you would rather just download the standard mame32 0.64, and play through that download this:
http://www.anti3d.com/dl/mame32k0.64en.zip It is the same thing. Then follow the above steps for adding roms.

If you have any problems where it says your "roms are missing" try placing all the files on the desktop. (I don't know why, but this worked for me when I had that problem)

Side Notes:
If you are wondering why an older version of mame w/ kalierra would be used.. From my understanding Mame32 0.64 is used because it is the only version that supports up to 4 players in a single game. A Control swapping feature by pressing F5, where when a player wins a match, the controls can be swapped and the next player in line is up. This winner stays mode is just like it was in the arcade's back in the 90's! This mame version is very blocky, but if you have a video card with tv output cababilities.. it looks pretty good on an old school tube television. (It seems to blur all of the pixels)

You may want to set your controls offline before joining. To do this start up mortal kombat, press tab. And choose "Input This Game" Here is a key for what the controls are.

When you are in the game server, you can either join a room, or create your own.

Known Issues:
For some reason it may not be possible on some setups to press alt+enter to fullscreen. It will sometimes crash the game. What I do is, I will maximize the window in the top right corner by the middle square. (for those people that don't know how to maximize a window)

Also to talk in a game you press T. But I've noticed if there is too much talking, too fast.. It will desync the game!

Disclaimer: Please note I am only providing information, I am not the original publisher or creator of any of these games or softwares, and I do not host the servers. I am mearly an anonymous MK fan collecting data and making it easier for everyone to get in! I know some people can't afford a ps3 or xbox 360 to play these old school games multiplayer. Thank you ANTI3D.COM for providing the mame client, the creators of kalierra, and also thank you MIDWAY (or warner brothers) for making Mortal Kombat!

Hey wazz, looks like people stopped seeding.. I'll fix that. It was done because believe it or not, a lot of people have no idea what mame is lol. They will just type "play mortal kombat online" and will get the ps3 version. That's how I found it.

Also, the Mortal Kombat server mentioned in this file has merged with West Wonderland, the new ip is for all you MK fans. It is a new dedicated server hosted by Ultimategameserver.com. So it's very fast!

If you don't want to download the torrent to play mk online.. you could also use this. http://www.anti3d.com/dl/mame32k0.64en.zip as mentioned in the readme, ignore the missing comctl32.dll error.

Also as a side note, there is a new program called mamehub, very much like kailerra. It was created by digitalghost. There are not many users on it at the moment, but it works great. I played MK2 for about 3 hours the other night with Krusty (He's always on there) Unforuntely it doesn't allow for control swaps, or winner stays mode in MK. It's also a new project, so not many users are in the lobby. So if you are going to use it, hang out!  Mention Hagg309 referred you too!

Have Fun!
