Mame32k64 is old.... i mean it was great when we were all playing with it 5+ years ago but come on ... why is it listed here as THE mame to get. I know it's our good ol' trust worthy stable version of MAME and everyone uses it but shouldn't we as a MK2 community be pushing eachother to get the maximum enjoyment from our game? I mean the most obvious reason to ditch 32k64 for ++.119 is no sound issues. No crackling which causes lag and is just annoying. The overall picture quality is much better. I mean if any of you are like me and have Windows 7... can you even adjust the graphical options of the emulator anymore?? My windows 7 comes up with a notice everytime i load 32k64 basically telling me your loading a piece of shit and you won't beable to use all of its functions properly because its outdated and windows7 drivers are too new for it. Which leaves me playing MK2 in fucking widescreen with my 22" monitor instead of getting to set up the aspect ratio properly with my newer computer.

All in all, give 32k64 a rest. It had its 15mins of glory. It's gone now and there is better options for us MK2 players.

Ggs indeed, darkmoon! Guys, if you haven't given this a try yet, it's a MUST! I am not exactly sure what it is about it, but it feels like the arcade machine more so than mame32k .64 OR PS3. The animation is smooth, the sound effects are powerful, and the graphics are cleaner. Anyone who doesn't believe me, please just set it up and see for yourself! You can aim either me or darkmoon and we'll help you with the setup. AIM: DarkIVloon - budoshadow

I always wondered when I first heard about MAME why MK2 players would still use the old version? I'm going to give this a shot soon Grin

People still use the old version because its the most reliable online. Almost every game for Mame will work on it without any Dsync issues especially when players are random selecting. However 119 doesn't have any problems with the MK games online. Though its still not the best mame for other games to be played online. Me and x820 tried like 10 times to play 2 different shmup games and it kept dsyncing.

Mame++119 = The Best for MK
Mame32k64 = The best for everything else.

Also, I've realized that MK 2.1 and 4.2 have better input than 3.1. Real talk

I heard that .119 has not been adopted because it doesn't allow for the 4 player games in a single room (winner stays) like .64. Control swaps. I learned all of this after 4 hours of research. The average mk fan would not be as dedicated and determined. i learned .119 has minor connection issues, desyncing. I just got into this 5 days ago, so im a noob. But i can tell you what steps I went through to try to play mk online. I typed "mortal kombat online" on google, did a lot of  digging and found the kailerra website. .119 was on there so i downloaded it. When i connected to the servers, I went to the first random server that was polulated, nobody would join my game, after an hour of this I basically assumed mk on kaillera must be dead. Luckily, I refreshed the server list and looked under M for mortal kombat. there was an mk server that said .64 required. Luckily I found that server, there were notes and the guy explained everything.  The graphics are better on .119, but after doing some research it seems like 0.64 is used for good reason.  I'm sure a lot of new players just go and download it from the main kaillera website like I did,  only to find it doesn't work because nobody is using it. I hear its good peer to peer, whereas .64 is very stable all around. But noobs like me dont know how to p2p, I think number one thing is have dedicated kailerra servers that are stable, populated, say "mortal kombat" in the name and have detailed instructions when you join. But you are right about the windows 7 and no graphics settings Sad
